PaperChain Chats: Todd Kirsch, Domtar
NPTA sits down with Todd Kirsch, Senior Account Manager with Domtar, to discuss the return to normal business operations, Emerging Leader initiatives, and more.
Since last summer, Kirsch has been itching to get back to the office and return to normal business operations.
“Well quite honestly, I’ve been chomping at the bit since last summer. It’s really been baby steps and being patient,” said Kirsch. “For a while, there were no customer visits unless there was an essential reason.”
Kirsch, like others, was eager to get back on the road to see customers face to face. “Talking to customers and seeing customers—everyone wants to get back to normal,” he says.
With regards to returning to normal business operations, Kirsch explains Domtar’s strategy in getting people back to the office and into their regular routines.
“Our supply chain never saw any disruption over the course of the last year,” says Kirsch. “We’re doing a lot of little things to prepare for the return to the office before we completely ramp back up.”
This year is also Kirsch’s first as part of the Emerging Leaders Group. “Hearing the best practices from some of my industry colleagues and hearing how they’re doing things at their company, trade aside, is incredibly valuable,” says Kirsch. “We’re able to exchange ideas and take those ideas and apply them to our respective roles.”
“We’re all looking forward to getting back to normal. Let’s be safe doing it,” says Kirsch. “We’ve been able to learn so many things in the last year on how to conduct business and deal with customers as well.”
