PaperChain Chats: Andrew Snyder, Clampitt Paper
PaperChain Chats | NPTA | July 08, 2021
In the past, Andrew Snyder, the chief operating officer of Clampitt Paper, liked nothing more than to pick up cookies, ice cream sandwiches or some other kind of sweet treat, visit various Clampitt locations and hand the treats out to employees. He liked connecting with the company’s employees and getting to know them a little better. But over the past 18 months or so, that wasn’t really in the cards, as the pandemic restricted people’s ability to meet in person and share goods.
Now, as life starts to return to normal, Snyder is excited to start meeting with people in person again — including employees, customers and more.
“It’s something that I’m looking forward to,” he tells Lauren Liacouras in the latest PaperChain Chat.
Clampitt’s motto is “Safety, Production and Quality,” so it’s no surprise that the company went to great lengths to keep its employees healthy during the pandemic — after all, safety comes first, as Snyder says. But Clampitt’s focus on its workers’ wellbeing is also indicative of the close ties the company’s employees share.
Snyder loves being “part of a team verging on a family,” he says. “Each day, we try to solve problems, whether those are paper problems, business problems or maybe even personal problems.”
In the PaperChain Chat, Snyder and Liacouras touch on the most rewarding aspects of his job and industry trends he has observed. They also discuss the Clampitt Creative Center, which Snyder describes as “a great place where we can meet face-to-face with designers, print salespeople and their customers and show them the power of paper.”
