Kimberly Clark Agrees to Buy Hydrogen Energy for U.K. Andrex and Kleenex Factory

Kleenex and Huggies maker Kimberly Clark recently inked a deal to purchase hydrogen-powered energy for its paper factory in northwest England, with the aim of replacing the natural gas it presently uses. Carlton Power is now developing the proposed 35MW hydrogen project in Barrow-in-Furness with support from the local government. Kimberly Clark's paper factory is situated adjacent to the planned electrolyzer. The £40mln public-private partnership plans for the hydrogen hub to be operational by 2025.
