Kaukauna Paper Mill Celebrates 140th Anniversary

Ahlstrom's Thilmany Paper Mill in Wisconsin this month is celebrating 140 years of service to the paper industry and the Fox Valley community. The mill was indeed founded in 1883 by Oscar Thilmany, the company's namesake, and acquired by Finish-based manufacturer Ahlstrom five years ago. It manufactures a wide range of specialty paper products from food packaging and e-commerce packaging to building and construction papers and medical papers. This specialization has helped keep the mill in business, company executives say. Addie Teeters, head of marketing communications, remarks, "The unique thing about a mill like this is that we’re super specialized to customer specifications, and that’s what’s really kept us competitive and open for so many years."
