What’s Up With Scalloped-edged Toilet Paper?

For the first time in almost a century, Charmin last month changed the design of its toilet paper rolls so each sheet now has a wavy, scalloped edge. Actor Anthony Anderson has partnered with the brand to promote the new product and recently clarified why he believes this perforation change is the key to "making your bathroom experience better." The Golden Globe nominee remarks, "They listened to their consumers who called in and complained and their complaint was, 'Toilet paper isn't tearing right! It's always ripping. You never get a smooth tear.' So Charmin listened to them" and delivered an effective bit of product "re-engineering." Anderson said he is delighted that the new toilet paper design has launched an online debate on whether or not the scalloped-edges make an actual difference in people's bathroom experience.
