The New Orleans City Council has passed an exception to its ban on throwing toilet paper from parade floats, specifically for the upcoming Tucks parade. Tucks has long been associated with toilet-themed tosses, from toilet paper to miniature toilets designed to squirt water. Its "king" rides a float on which he sits on a gigantic, gilded commode as a throne. The Council previously approved an ordinance prohibiting the use of toilet paper as a parade throw. The Council's new exception directs Tucks riders to use biodegradable, marine-grade, or the most readily degradable form of toilet paper available for its throws. The Tucks parade is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10.
