10.9% Rise in Paper Industry Jobs Between 2012 and 2022

Between 2012 and 2022, the number of people in the European Union (EU) working in the paper and paper products industry increased by 10.9%. This means that that 62,500 more people were working in this industry than prior to 2012. In 2022, 637,300 people were working in the industry. Of this total, 622,700 were employees, bringing a 11.3% increase (+63,000) to the sector over the previous 10 years. When it comes to self-employed individuals working in the paper industry, there was a slight decrease of 300, or -2.1% from 2012 to 2022.
