Westminster College in Pennsylvania honored Paul Trokhan, the man largely responsible for transforming Bounty paper towels into a household brand, during its recent graduation commencement ceremony. A member of the class of 1968, Trokhan was awarded a Doctor of Science honorary degree in recognition of his contributions to the paper product industry. He previously earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Westminster College and a Master's in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University. Trokhan worked for Procter & Gamble for more than five decades. He is credited with developing photopolymer molding templates and the high-speed through-air-dried tissue-making process, which greatly improved the quality and efficiency of paper products like Bounty, Charmin, and Puffs.
