Patagonia Joins Sustainable Packaging Initiative Aimed at Protecting Forests

Outdoor gear and apparel retailer Patagonia is collaborating with environmental nonprofit Canopy to develop paper products using agricultural waste and non-forest fibers. In doing so, Patagonia joins the Pack4Good initiative dedicated to stopping companies from sourcing packaging materials from endangered forests. Moving forward, Patagonia will opt for alternative fiber sources for paper and packaging that do not rely on logging. Currently, paper packaging used for delivery boxes, shoe boxes, and hang tags are responsible for over three billion trees being logged from climate critical forests, Canopy reports.
