Walkers Chocolates Unveils 100 Percent Recyclable Paper Packaging for Its Turkish Delight and Bar Ranges

Walkers Chocolates is now featuring 100% recyclable paper wrapping for its own brand Turkish Delight and mint cream bar ranges. The new packaging incorporates RCM (recyclable, compostable and marine safe) material from EvoPak and is set to be rolled out by the end of this month in Asda and Premier stores. The new paper wrapper provides a functional and environmentally friendly alternative to current snack and confectionary packaging which, over the last three decades, has become increasingly complex with the development of lightweight, multi-layer structures. While this has driven shelf life and efficiency, the complexity makes them impossible to deal with at end of life. EvoPak is a manufacturer of sustainable paper-based flexible packaging. Unlike conventional paper packaging which often contains polyethylene, consumers can dispose of the new Walkers' wrapper in their normal curbside recycling collection along with their other recyclable paper items.
