Stevens Point Paper Mill Acquired by Finnish Paper Maker

Wisconsin-based Pixelle Specialty Solutions has been acquired by Finland's Ahlstrom. The centerpiece of the $600 million deal is Pixelle's paper mill in Stevens Point, Wisc. Pending certain regulatory approvals, the transaction is on pace to close by the end of this year's second quarter. "The acquisition of the Stevens Point operation is a pivotal step in our journey to enhance our technology offerings," remarks Konraad Dullaert, Ahlstrom's chief innovation officer. "This business and its highly experienced, top-class team will significantly strengthen our capabilities, enabling us to deliver innovative and sustainable packaging solutions to our customers in North America and beyond."
