International Paper in Talks to Divest Five European Box Plants

International Paper has entered exclusive talks with German paper company Palm Group for the acquisition of five IP corrugated box plants throughout Europe. The facilities include three box plants in Normandy, France; one in Ovar, Portugal; and the fifth facility in Bilbao, Spain. Both parties expect to enter into a definitive share purchase agreement soon, with the sale currently on pace to close by the end of June.
