Potsdam Specialty Paper Acquired by Maine-Based Company, Saving 70 Jobs

Maine-based Twin Rivers Paper Company has acquired Potsdam Specialty Paper Inc. (PSPI) for an undisclosed sum. Twin Rivers management described the newly acquired mill in Potsdam, N.Y., as a "recognized leader in the development and manufacturing of specialty latex, acrylic, and other saturated base papers.” PSPI Chief Executive Mike Huth remarks, "We're excited about the ability to build upon our mutual legacy of papermaking excellence . . . and serve new customers." The Potsdam mill produces highly engineered papers for a broad array of market sectors, with applications ranging from durable labels to book covers to high-end retail packaging. Twin Rivers owns two other paper mills in New York.
