Mark Swets, NPTA executive director, connects with Gerry Klug, sales director, converting and printing at Sylvamo and current NPTA chair, and Ed Allen, president of WCP Solutions and incoming NPTA chair, to discuss the upcoming leadership transition and the industry perspective each brings to NPTA. Klug reflects on his retirement, his more than 40 years in the paper industry, and the relationships that have shaped his career, while Allen shares his perspective on NPTA’s continued value to members.
“For 40 years, my word has been my bond in this business, and that has been reciprocated back to me from customers and suppliers over the years,” Klug says. “I also believe that the foundation of NPTA is about relationships, and I look forward to continuing to develop those relationships,” Allen says.
Swets, Klug, and Allen also discuss the value NPTA brings to members during a time of continued change, including opportunities to support emerging leaders, collaborate with partner organizations, and help unify the industry. The conversation also touches on extended producer responsibility legislation, the importance of acting boldly as an association, and the opportunities ahead for NPTA and its members.
